This is not a therapy app (and that's the point)
March 28, 2026
When we tell people we built a couples app, the first question is always "oh, like therapy?" No. Not like therapy.
Therapy is great. If you need it, do it. But therapy requires both people to opt in, commit to a process, and do emotional work on a schedule. That's a big ask when you're both running on four hours of sleep and your biggest shared experience this week was assembling a school lunch.
JustGlow doesn't ask you to work on anything. It doesn't track your progress. It doesn't have a curriculum. There's no week 1, week 2, week 8 graduation. There's no "how did that make you feel?" moment.
It's just prompts. Short ones. You read them together, you respond or you don't, and you move on. Nobody's growing. Nobody's healing. You're just having a small moment together.
That sounds unambitious and it is. On purpose.
Because here's what I've noticed: the couples who need the most help connecting are also the ones with the least energy for "connection exercises." Asking an exhausted parent to do nightly intimacy homework is like asking someone who skipped lunch to run a marathon. The spirit might be willing but the body is already done.
What works is the smallest possible thing. A few questions before sleep. No processing required. No feelings to unpack. Just two people reading the same words on the same screen for a few minutes.
If that turns into a real conversation, great. If it turns into "that was nice, goodnight," also great. Both are better than parallel scrolling.
We're not trying to fix anyone's marriage. We're trying to give tired people something to do together for ten minutes that isn't work.
